Since its foundation in 2001 LANG consulting has conducted intensive networking, research and consulting work and thus has become a renowned expert in the field of passive houses.

From the very beginning, the passive house, energy efficiency and a look towards the future have been the constant focus of LANG consulting's professional activities. In the process, a broad range of aspects are covered in theoretical research and pioneering demonstration projects. As certified passive house designer, raiser and owner of the oldest Austrian certified passive house and planer of the first retrofit of a single-family house to a certified passive house, Günter Lang can offer the necessary know-how therefor. To spread the findings rapidly and extensively, Günter Lang is a speaker on the subject of passive houses at numerous congresses and technical meetings worldwide. Together with Markus Lang he forms the team of LANG consulting.

If you really want to get to know the passive house you have to experience it for yourself. This is why Günter Lang has shown his own passive house to great numbers of interested visitors but also conducts competently guided excursions to different passive houses for attendants from all over the globe.
With the passathon we created a new sports event for sustainable buildings. Thousands of participants enjoyed that new way of architectural excursion by now.

It was in particular due to the close cooperation with Passivhaus Institut, the establishment and management of the passive house experts network Passivhaus Austria, the establishment and ten years as manager of IG Passivhaus Oberösterreich and IG Passivhaus Österreich (interest group passive house Austria) that Günter Lang made a major contribution to networking passive house stakeholders worldwide and familiarising the general public with the passive house standard.

	Research Preparation and development of fundamental studies und expert opinions about feasibility, economic efficiency and development potential of the passive house. Dissemination of the passive house standard and of energy-efficient refurbishment on a national and international level using transfer projects. Additionally, best-practice demonstration refurbishment and new building projects in the passive house standard and "nearly zero energy building" standard are part of the research efforts of LANG consulting.

	Consulting As certified passive house designer LANG consulting offers competent consultation and examination services for planning innovative passive house projects, both for new buildings and refurbishment of existing building stock to meet the passive house standard. Analyses, expert reports and studies for implementing individual buildings and even energy self-sufficient city quarters. Preparation of expert opinions for regional, national or international implementation of subsidy guidelines, legislation and strategies for energy efficient and cost-optimised buildings.

	Networking LANG consulting supports the establishment and accompanies the networking of stakeholders and NGOs for promoting the passive house standard in Austria, Europe and, increasingly, all over the world. LANG consulting offers cooperation for transfer projects for networking and transfer of know-how. LANG consulting is active globally in consulting for building, developing and strengthening networks of regional and international passive house stakeholders.

	Professional training With his profound knowledge of the passive house scene and as certified passive house designer, Günter Lang is a speaker at national and international conferences, seminars and training courses on the subject of passive houses, covering all aspects of the sector. Also, LANG consulting organises and hosts international excursions to passive houses, events and workshops on all aspects of the passive house. Transfer of know-how on energy efficient buildings is one of the key challenges to the entire construction industry in the next ten years.
